Such Could I Be
Such Could I Be
An inquiry into whiteness and the structures that sustain its violence.
These illustrations emerged from my questioning of my own identity as a white person, tracing how poverty, addiction, consumption, patriarchy, and white supremacy shape poor white communities in the United States. The work explores how shame and self-hatred are projected outward as racism and violence against Black and other marginalized communities, while larger systems of power continue to hoard wealth and shape the culture we live within.
